Joliet has some pretty random claims to fame: a closed prison that was used to film the TV show Prison Break, the first Dairy Queen in the United States and some of the highest CD rates on our whole list.

This city made our list of Best Cities to Bank in because of it’s high 1.45% APY average interest rate on deposit accounts. Joliet also has a great variety of banks to choose from with three local banks available.

For a large city, Joliet has plenty to offer its residents, not to mention being so close to the Chicago metro area.
