This 5.25% APY rewards checking account rate  applies to balances that are up to $25,000,  for the balance portion above $25,000 a 1.01% APY will be paid – these rates are only valid if requirements are met every monthly statement cycle. Monthly requirements are:

• You must enroll and receive electronic statements
• You must set up one direct deposit or authorize one automatic payment
• You must make 10 Visa check card purchases

Although there is a minimum balance of $100 that is required to open the account, this account has no service charges – which is a plus for everyone who is concerned about paying for surprised service charges.
