Posted in Banking , Checking Accounts , National Banks , Rates

BBVA Compass is offering an impressive checking promotion that brings with it an 8 GB iPod Touch. You get the iPod if you open a new Build-to-Order Free Checking account by Dec. 15, 2009. See the promotion page for more details and don’t forget to first register so that you can receive the claim code.

Here are some details of the promotion:

  • Direct deposit must begin within 6 weeks of opening the account. It must also continue at least once per statement cycle.
  • The account will be re-verified at 6 months to confirm you are meeting the requirements. If it isn’t, your account will be debited $180 (the cost of the iPod touch) from your checking account.
  • You will have to pay for shipping and handling of the iPod touch.

Some basics of Build-to-Order Free Checking include that the account has no minimum balance or direct deposit requirement. Also, it offers a $25 anniversary bonus.

A $100 minimum opening deposit is required to qualify for the bonus. Also, you must be a new customer and live in a state where a banking center is located (Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, New Mexico, or Texas). Limit 1 iPod touch per household.
