The new Citi Mobile app for Apple’s iPhone has stirred a bit of controversy after the company announced that the personal account information of customers could be threatened. According to Citigroup, the app has inadvertently saved personal account details in a hidden file on the users’ phones – a glitch that is already believed to have compromised account numbers, access codes and credit card bill payments.
To resolve the problem, Citigroup is urging customers to upgrade to a new application made available on Apple’s App Store. However, those who choose to keep their current apps will have the account info deleted immediately (NY Daily News).
