Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union offers several different Certificates if you’re interested in storing your money for a few years.

There is a simple 1-year CD, which carries 1.71% APY. The terms are simple:

  • $1,000 minimum deposit
  • Penalty for early withdrawal equal to 2 months’ interest
  • Optional automatic renewal

If you’re willing to deposit your money for a longer period, the rate goes up. For example, a 2-year CD comes with 2.12% APY, while 7-year CD has a really attractive 3.87%. Of course, penalties are also higher – if you withdraw from a 7-year CD before maturity, you’ll forgo 1.5 years’ worth of interest.
