In support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Go Banking Rates has partnered with the local Soroptomist Club in Manhattan Beach, CA, to support their “Breast Cancer Comfort” tote program. Many organizations support the efforts to prevent or find a cure for breast cancer. We decided to support the 1 in 8 women who are fighting to defeat this disease and let them know they are not alone.

#2 : The women of the Soroptomist Club created the Breast Cancer Comfort Tote project to help ease the symptoms of chemotherapy. They carefully select each item in the tote bag to help alleviate specific side effects of chemo. For example, each tote includes lip balm for dried lips, mints to disguise the “chemo breath” and a small pillow to ease discomfort.

Throughout the month of October, Go Banking Rates and GoMediaNetwork will be raising funds on our sites. Every dollar you donate can add 1 lip balm to a bag, or for every $5, you can donate a comfort pillow. Other items included in the tote are gentle hand cream, a head scarf, and reading materials empowering these ladies with hope. Your donations are secured through PayPal.
About the Breast Cancer Comfort Tote Program
Now in its third year, the Breast Cancer Comfort Tote program was started by local businesswomen who wanted to provide one-to-one help for women battling breast cancer. In total, the Manhattan Beach Soroptimists have delivered hundreds of totes to hospitals and Breastlink treatment centers across Southern California. Each year, the Soroptimists receive letters from patients who were touched by this program.
