N.C. State University is looking forward to having a big showing in this year’s March Madness tournament. With a great record and exceptional talent on hand, the team may just pull off a National Championship. But basketball is not all that the school is excited about. The university also wants to help its students excel academically, which is why it assistance financially with N.C. State scholarships and student loans.
N.C. State Scholarships Give Students Financial Relief
Attending North Carolina State University at Raleigh is a great treat for students who enjoy a full scholastic experience. The school is known for its academic achievements, forming one of the corners of the Research Triangle with Duke University, Durham and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It is also known for offering well-rounded student activities.
Students who attend N.C. State pay the following average annual expenses:
- Tuition: $7,018 (in-state), $19,852 (out-of-state)
- Housing: $5,176
- Meals: $3,360
The good news is N.C. financial aid is available to assist students with their college expenses. For instance, the school offers a number of scholarships that fall under the categories of distinctive, college-based and employer-specific to name a few.
N.C. State grants are also available to students, whether they’re looking for federal, in-state, out-of-state or institutional options. Of course, both federal and private student loans are available. And the school offers employment opportunities through the Federal Work Study Program.
N.C. State in March Madness
It’s always exciting for a college to have its team represented in the March Madness, so any fans of N.C. State basketball are thrilled that their team made the cut.
But N.C. State is no rookie to the NCAA Tournament. The Wolfpack has made 23 NCAA appearances and actually won the tournament twice.
Of course, this doesn’t make this year’s appearance any less exciting for the team. They’re coming into the tournament with a 22-12 record and a team full of “bigs” who are 6′ 8″ or taller, including stars Richard Howell, C.J. Leslie and DeShawn Painter.
The Wolfpack are undoubtedly an intimidating opponent. When they play San Diego State on March 16, everyone will see just how intimidating they can be.
