Kentucky residents can benefit from a reasonable 1.30% APY high yield savings account on the highest tier from Commonwealth Credit Union. Here is a full list of the account’s rate tiers:

  • 1.30% APY – $100,000 and up
  • 1.20% APY – $50,000 to $99,999
  • 1.00% APY – $25,000 to $49,999
  • 0.90% APY – $10,000 to $24,999
  • 0.50% APY – $5 – $9,999

Dividends are compounded quarterly and are based on an average daily balance.

Joining Commonwealth Credit Union requires participating in a Kentucky Retirement System, including Kentucky Employees, Kentucky Teachers, County Employee’s, Kentucky State Police. It also requires at least a $5 deposit into a High Yield or Ready Access savings account. If you’re eligible to join, you can apply online.
