The 106 year old financial institution now known as WT Direct, is offering a 1.41% APY on new savings accounts. Originally the bank started as the Wilmington Trust Family, but the new branch WT Direct launched in 2006. The WTDirect Savings Account terms to take advantage of the savings account rate include:
- No minimum deposit to open account
- After 60 days the APY will revert to a tiered structure based on deposit amount where accounts with over $10,000 will receive the highest APY possible (currently 1.41%) and accounts up to $9999.99 will earn a lower APY (currently 15%)
- FDIC insured up to $250,000
The Wilmington Delaware based bank has made this offer available to all qualified people who meet the terms of being a “… citizen or a resident alien of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia (the “U.S.”), have a social security number or individual taxpayer identification number, are at least 18 years old, and have a U.S. address (P.O. Box addresses are not allowed).” Accounts can be opened up online.
