Guide to the Best President’s Day 2012 Sales

Forget Black Friday–President’s Day weekend is miles ahead in terms of the savings you can find shopping. According to Shop It to Me data, President’s day comes only second to Labor day in terms of the size of the sales occurring.

And what better way to spend a three-day weekend than by saving money while shopping the biggest sales? But you probably already knew that–the real question is: Where do you go to score these deals?

I’ve rounded up the best bargains I could find so you don’t have to waste precious time searching for them. Happy shopping!

Best President’s Day 2012 Sales: Department Stores

Macy’s: Take an extra 15 percent off, plus free shipping with the promo code PRES. Clearance is an additional 25 percent off (online only–see more web deals below).

Nordstrom: The shoe clearance sale is offering up to 40 percent off select styles.

Bloomingdales: The Big Brown Bag sale is happening in stores and online, with 20 to 40 percent off select merchandise through 2/20.

Kohl’s: Early Bird specials on over 100 items–Saturday, February 18th only, from 7 am to 1 pm in stores and 12 am to 3 pm CST online.

President’s Day Sales: Apparel & Accessories

Gap: The Red, White and Blue Event is offering up to 40 percent off select styles through the 20th.

Ralph Lauren: Select styles are 20 percent off, plus save up to 65 percent on already-reduced items.

Urban Outfitters: The Vote Sale is occurring both online and in stores, with discounts on over 2,000 items. Additionally, free shipping is available on orders of $50 or more.

Bluefly.com: Major brands are discounted an extra 30 percent, equaling total savings of up to 80 percent. Sale ends Tuesday at 5 am–see site for more details.

Calvin Klein: The entire site is 40 percent off through 2/20–discount is applied at checkout. Fragrance, underwear and home collection are excluded.

Guess: Take an additional 40 percent off sale items.

J. Crew: Orders of $150 or more are eligible for a discount of 20 percent with the code FABFEB.
