It's not easy to find a competitive savings rate nowadays, which is why the 1.65% APY Savings Plus Account from Beacon Credit Union is pretty impressive. Here are some details of the account:

The rate applies to balances over $100,000. All other balances receive 1.15% APY.
The Savings Plus account can be used as primary membership account. To become a member, you must live or work in one of 15 Indiana counties (see membership page for more details).

The online bank, E-Loan, has lowered its Savings Plus top tier rate to 1.50% APY for balances of $100,000 or more. Our last reported rate was 1.71% APY. Check out some details of the account:

- $5,000 minimum opening deposit
- $100 minimum deposit each month
- 1.45% APY on balances between $5,000 and $99,999.99
A $5,000 minimum balance is required for the account. The online bank is FDIC insured and can be applied for online through Banco Popular North America (BNPA), a New York state-chartered bank.
