After earning a B.A. in English with a Specialization in Business from UCLA, John Csiszar worked in the financial services industry as a registered representative for 18 years. Along the way, Csiszar earned both Certified Financial Planner and Registered Investment Adviser designations, in addition to being licensed as a life agent, while working for both a major Wall Street wirehouse and for his own investment advisory firm. During his time as an advisor, Csiszar managed over $100 million in client assets while providing individualized investment plans for hundreds of clients. Since then, Csiszar has gone on to write thousands of articles about financial services and personal financial planning for mainstream publications. Csiszar specializes in personalized investment advice, financial analysis, risk-avoidance strategies and long-term savings techniques, in addition to day-to-day budgeting and capital preservation tips. Beyond his financial specialization, Csiszar also writes about travel, including financial tips for expats. Having owned and managed a boutique travel company, Csiszar has visited 36 countries and is constantly compiling relevant information about international relations, currencies and travel strategies, including rewards points and miles. On the academic side, Csiszar has authored five educational books for young adults on topics as disparate as information technology and the element aluminum.
