Current Wells Fargo Promotions

Wells Fargo’s Savings Account, Everyday Checking Account and Business Accounts (Business Choice Checking, Platinum Business Checking and Analyzed Business Checking) might have great bonus offers, but there are more details worth considering before opening a new account.

Everyday Checking Account Offer: $400 Bonus

The Everyday Checking Account offer gives customers access to the Wells Fargo Mobile app, digital alerts and debit cards. College students can link their Wells Fargo Campus ATM Cards or Campus Affinity Debit Cards to this account as well.

  • Minimum deposit to qualify: $25
  • Expiration date: Dec. 31, 2019
  • How to get it: This bonus is only offered if you open your Everyday Checking Account online.
  • When you’ll get it: 45 days after meeting all the qualifying requirements
  • Terms and conditions: Open your Everyday Checking account with a minimum balance of $25 and then deposit a cumulative monthly total of $3,000 in qualifying direct deposits within the first 150 days (either have a government payment such as your Social Security payment or other regular monthly income electronically deposited into your account by your employer).
  • Monthly fees: $10 per statement cycle, but this can be avoided if you maintain a $1,500 minimum daily balance, $500 minimum direct deposits or 10 debit card payments.

Savings Account Offer: $200 Bonus

Both Wells Fargo Savings Accounts  (Way2Save and Platinum Savings) offer great ways to save money and build up your balances with features like overdraft protection and the option to make automatic monthly transfers into your savings account.

  • Minimum deposit to qualify: $25
  • Expiration date: Dec. 31, 2019
  • How to get it: This bonus is only offered if you open this account at a physical Wells Fargo branch because of the “new money” requirement. You can complete the form online and bring it to your branch to receive your $200 bonus.
  • When you’ll get it: 45 days after meeting all the qualifying requirements
  • Terms and conditions: You must deposit $15,000 of new money. New money is money from an account outside Wells Fargo and its affiliates such as an international bank transfer, which requires a SWIFT code (not to be confused with a routing number). Once deposited, you must maintain that $15,000 minimum daily balance for the first 90 days.
  • Monthly fees: For the Way2Save Savings account the fee is $5 per statement cycle unless you keep a daily minimum balance of $300, have an account owner under the age 0f 18 or set up an automatic savings payment. For the Platinum Savings account, the fee is $12 unless you maintain a daily minimum balance of $3,500.

  • Expiration date: Nov. 15, 2019
  • How to get it: First you must enter your information online and you will have a coupon code emailed to you. Bring your code, along with business documents, to the nearest Wells Fargo branch. After meeting the financial requirements, you’ll receive your $500 bonus.
  • When you’ll get it: 60 days after meeting all of the qualifying requirements.
  • Terms and conditions: You must make a $15,000 deposit within the first 30 days and maintain a $15,000 daily minimum balance for the first 90 days. Avoiding Wells Fargo Account Fees

Every account with a bonus offer has a monthly service fee, but these fees are (fortunately) avoidable. Each account has specific qualifications that will waive the fee if met:

  • Everyday Checking Account: To avoid this monthly fee, you must either maintain a $1,500 minimum daily balance, have $500 minimum qualifying direct deposits (i.e., salary, pension or Social Security deposit) or make 10 eligible debit card payments. The eligible debit card payments are debit transactions or debit card payments of bills that have been posted within your statement cycle.
  • Way2Save and Platinum Savings Account: To avoid a monthly fee for the Way2Save savings account, you must either keep a daily minimum balance of $300, have an account owner under the age 0f 18 or set up an automatic savings payment. To avoid the Platinum Savings account monthly fee of $12, you must simply maintain a daily minimum balance of $3,500.
  • Business Accounts:
    • To avoid the Business Choice Checking $14 monthly fee, you must do one of the following: keep a $7,500 ledger balance; keep $10,000 in combined Wells Fargo balances (doesn’t have to be only business accounts); have a linked Direct Pay; or have qualifying transactions from a linked Merchant Services account.
    • To avoid the Platinum Business Checking $40 monthly fee, you must either keep a $25,000 ledger balance or $40,000 in combined Wells Fargo balances (doesn’t have to be only business accounts).
    • To avoid the Analyzed Business Checking $22 fee monthly fee, you must talk to a Wells Fargo banker to get an earnings allowance that would offset any monthly fee. This account is for a business that conducts a large number of transactions or advanced treasury management so it doesn’t function quite like the other two accounts when it comes to a monthly fee.
