You’ve just opened a bank account with Truist Bank, or maybe you opened one with SunTrust or BB&T before they merged in 2019. Now you need to get into your online account but don’t know how to get started.
Don’t worry — you can log in from any computer, or you can use a tablet or smartphone app. Just follow the instructions below.
How To Log In to Your Truist Bank Account From a Computer
To log in on a computer, head to Truist.com and click “Sign in” in the upper right corner. This will load the Truist login window. There you can put in your user ID and password.
If you’ve never registered for online banking, then you don’t have a user ID yet. After you click “Sign in,” the second link from the bottom of the new window says “Register now.” Click that link to be taken to the page where you can register to use online banking. Be sure to have your ATM card, debit card or account number handy.
How To Log In to Your Truist Bank Account Through the App
To use the Truist app, you will need to have iOS 13 or later or Android OS 8 or later. Once you download the app on your phone or tablet, tap on it to open it. It will automatically ask you for your user ID and password when you open the app.
Selecting any of the links will typically take you to the Truist site on your phone’s browser.
How To Recover Your Username or Password If It’s Lost
If you can find the Truist online login screen, you can recover your username or password. If you can’t find the login screen, follow the instructions above for the device you’re using.
On either of the login screens — the desktop version on a computer or the app version on a tablet or smartphone — there are two links or buttons underneath the boxes to input your information. On the desktop version they are links, and on the app version they are buttons that will open a browser window on your device once you select them.
Click either “Forgot user ID?” or, depending on whether you’re using a computer or a mobile device, “Forgot password?” or “Reset password.” You will then have to choose if your account is a Truist Bank account or a SunTrust account. To recover your information for a Truist Bank account, you will need your email address and Social Security number. To recover your username, you will also need your last name, account or card number, and ZIP code.

If you are having trouble logging in to your Truist account, then you can contact the bank directly for assistance. Representatives are available by phone Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
