Commerce Bank is the retail banking institution of Commerce Bancshares, based out of Kansas City, Missouri. The bank has branches in Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Oklahoma and Colorado. The bank's roots go all the way back to 1865 and it is the oldest chartered bank in Kansas City, as well as the largest. Commerce Bank holds the distinction of being the former workplace of President Harry S Truman, who worked there between April 1903 and May 1905.
