About South Carolina Federal Credit Union

South Carolina Federal Credit Union has provided convenient financial services since it was chartered in 1936 as Charleston Navy Yard Employees Federal Credit Union. Fourteen naval shipyard workers with small beginnings sparked what is now one of the largest credit unions in the country, serving over 150,000 members. Membership has since expanded to include residents and their families of Charleston, Dorchester, Berkeley, Calhoun, Georgetown, Orangeburg as well as most of Lexington and Richland Counties. Members enjoy the convenience of access to local branches and ATMs as well as an additional 30,000 surcharge-free network ATMs worldwide.
