Today, Walmart is a household name for its ability to offer some of the lowest prices around. While offering low prices is not a surprise, there are 10 other facts about Walmart you probably didn’t know.

You may soon be able to shop by drone.

The pandemic inspired creative solutions for pick-up and delivery. Perhaps the most creative yet, Walmart partnered with a nationwide drone company called “DroneUP” to deliver COVID testing kits to people at home.

They were so pleased by the swift result that they plan to further invest in this service for other kinds of super speedy, at-home deliveries. They’ll run a pilot program out of their Bentonville, Arkansas store.

You probably knew Walmart employed a lot of people. After all, they have approximately 10,500 “retail units,” which includes eCommerce websites. But perhaps you did not know that this amounts to the retail company employing nearly 2.3 million people around the world.

At Walmart, you can pay just $4 for a 30-day supply of a number of generic medications and only $10 on some generics for a 90-day supply.

Walmart employs and educates veterans.

Walmart has committed to employing and educating military veterans who are seeking work through their “Find a Future” program. Walmart career counselors will help point veterans in the right direction. Educational training will help veterans obtain new skills. There are entrepreneurship opportunities for them, too.

No, that’s not a euphemism. Through Walmart’s In-Home Delivery program, you can pay for a Walmart employee to not only deliver your groceries while you are away, but physically put them into your fridge for you.

For folks who feel a little wary about a stranger coming into your house, Walmart offers a live stream you can watch through your app.
