New York City-born and raised, Lady Gaga may seem to be an overnight success story, launching a debut album in 2008 with two Billboard hits — “Just Dance” and “Poker Face.” She became one of the highest-paid women in music in 2018, largely thanks to her performance with Bradley Cooper in “A Star Is Born” and the subsequent hit single, “Shallow.”

Most recently, Gaga has begun sharing photos of herself on the set of her newest movie, Joker 2. And today, Celebrity Net Worth reports Lady Gaga’s net worth at $320 million. Keep reading to learn more about how she made her millions.

Early Life

Before she was Lady Gaga, she was Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta born to Cynthia and Joseph in Manhattan on March 28, 1986. Stefani was already studying music at age 4 and began performing when she was 14. By 17, she gained early admission to New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, but she chose to drop out during her sophomore year to pursue a career in music, performing on New York’s Lower East Side. It was while working at Sony/ATV Music Publishing as a songwriter in 2007 that Gaga was discovered by Akon and offered a music deal. The following year, she released her debut album, “The Fame.”

Music and Acting Career

It wasn’t long before “Lady Gaga” was a household name. After her debut album, Gaga continued to succeed musically, releasing another four studio albums, the most recent being “Chromatica.”

Gaga’s top-charting singles launched her into stardom, but her talents aren’t exclusive to singing and songwriting. In 2015, Gaga landed a lead role in the Fox miniseries, “American Horror Story: Hotel,” for which she won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. Gaga followed up that success in 2018 with the hit, award-winning movie, “A Star Is Born,” where she starred alongside Bradley Cooper. That year alone she became the first person to win an Academy Award, a Grammy, a BAFTA and a Golden Globe Award all in the same year.

Following the music seemed to work out well as Gaga went on to earn anywhere from $30 million to $80 million or more annually through her music, acting and celebrity endorsement deals. A highly profitable Las Vegas residency, “Lady Gaga Enigma,” added to her annual earnings from 2018 to 2020. Gaga’s world tours alone rake in hundreds of millions of dollars.

Fashion, Business and Real Estate

Gaga has also partnered with top fashion and makeup brands, including MAC, Versace and the Japanese company Shiseido, working as a celebrity endorser and spokesperson. She also launched highly profitable fragrance lines in 2012 and 2014. In early June 2020, Lady Gaga signed on to be the face of Valentino’s newest perfume, Voce Viva.

As with many high net worth individuals, some of Gaga’s fortune sits tied up in real estate. She bought a $22.5 million, six-acre Malibu mansion in 2014 which she uses as her primary residence. She purchased a second home in the Hollywood Hills in 2016, formerly owned by Frank Zappa, but sold it in 2021 to Mick Jagger’s daughter Lizzy Jagger for $6.5 million.

Celebrity Net Worth reports that Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation helps the talented star contribute both time and money to mental health awareness and LGBTQIA+ causes. She worked together with Global Citizen in 2020 to produce a virtual concert series, “Together At Home,” which provided entertainment for those on lockdown while raising $130 million to aid in coronavirus relief efforts spearheaded by the World Health Organization. Even more impressive, the popstar does it all while struggling with chronic pain caused by fibromyalgia.
