How to Whitelist GOBankingRates’ Email Address

Because spam and unwanted emails have grown into a larger issue than in times past, email providers now have filters that are a bit stricter. These filters are designed to allow only legitimate emails in your inbox, however, they sometimes miss legitimate senders and incorrectly classify their messages as junk. But you can take a few simple steps to ensure you receive the GOBankingRates emails you’ve signed up for. Adding the GOBankingRates email address (news@email.gobankingrates.com), or the domain GOBankingRates.com, to your service provider’s whitelist is the best way to go.

Here are whitelisting instructions for some of the more popular email service providers:

Gmail

  1. Find email from GOBankingRates (news@email.gobankingrates.com).
  2. Click “Filter messages like these” (under the “More” tab).
  3. Click “Create filter with this search” (on bottom right of popup screen).
  4. Click “Never send it to Spam.”
  5. Click “Create filter.”

Yahoo!

Yahoo! doesn’t have a specific whitelist program, but desktop and mobile users can add an email address to their contact lists to increase the chances of messages making it to the inbox, instead of the Spam folder.

  1. Click “Contacts.”
  2. Click “Add New Contacts.”
  3. Choose “Email” from the drop-down menu and then type the GOBankingRates email address in the adjacent box.
  4. Click “Save.”

Hotmail

  1. Open your desktop or mobile mailbox and click “Options.”
  2. Click “Junk Email Protection.”
  3. Click “Safe List.”
  4. Find the “Type an Address or Domain” box and enter the GOBankingRates email address or domain to whitelist it.
  5. Click “Add.”

iCloud

For iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch users with iOS 7 or later:

  1. Open an email from GOBankingRates (news@email.gobankingrates.com).
  2. Tap the folder icon at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap “Inbox” to move the message to your inbox.

Mac Users:

  1. Click on the GOBankingRates email message.
  2. Click the “Not Junk” button, or drag the message to the inbox in the sidebar by left-clicking the mouse and holding it down until you reach the inbox.

AOL

  1. Open your mailbox in either your desktop or mobile app or click on a GOBankingRates email.
  2. Click or tap “Show Details.”
  3. Move the mouse over the menu (or tap it, if using a mobile device).
  4. Click or tap “Add Contact.”
  5. The GOBankingRates email address will show up in the email field.
  6. Click “Add Contact.”

Apple Mail for iOS devices (iPhone and iPad)

Method 1:

  1. Tap on the junk folder and find a message from news@email.gobankingrates.com.
  2. Tap and hold the message, and drag it to your inbox.

 Method 2:

  1. Tap on the junk folder and find a message from news@email.gobankingrates.com.
  2. Tap the message.
  3. Tap the “From” field. Tap “Create New Contact. The GOBankingRates email address will be filled in; tap “Done” to white list it.

AT&T Webmail

  1. Sign in to your account using a desktop computer or mobile device and click “Options” from the mailbox page.
  2. Select “Mail Options.”
  3. Choose “Filters.”
  4. Click “Add Filters.”
  5. Select “From Header.”
  6. Choose “Contains.”
  7. Add the GOBankingRates email address.
  8. Click the “Move the message to” drop-down menu and select “Inbox.”
  9. Click “Add Filter.”

Comcast/Xfinity

  3. Click the “Not Spam” button so the email is moved to your inbox.

Xfinity Connect for Mobile Users:

  1. Sign in to your account and tap “Preferences.”

  3. Tap “Email Safe List.”
  4. Add the GOBankingRates email address and domain.

  2. Click on “Preferences.”
  3. Select “Blocked Senders” under “General Email Preferences.”
  4. Add the GOBankingRates email address or domain.
  5. Click “Add.”
  6. Click “Save.”

EarthLink

  1. After logging in, click the “Address Book” button at the top of your screen.
  2. Click “Manage Domains” and a list of allowed domains will pop up.
  3. Click “Add,”
  4. Type “GOBankingRates.com” in the provided text box.
  5. Click “Allow This Company (Domain).”

You can also simply forward a GOBankingRates email to yourself from the Suspect Email folder.

Mail for Android

  2. Find an email from GOBankingRates and tap on its sender icon.
  3. Click “OK” when the message comes up asking if you’d like to add this person or business to your contacts list.

  3. Click “New Card.”
  4. Click the “Contact” tab.
  5. Enter the GOBankingRates email address in the email field.

  3. Open the drop-down menu and click on “Junk Email.”
  4. Click “Add Sender to Safe Sender’s List.”

  3. Tap “Move to Focused Inbox.”
  4. Tap “Move this and all future messages.”

  1. Log in to your desktop or mobile account and click “Settings.”
  2. Click “Email Settings.”
  3. Click “Blocking.”
  4. Click “Safe Senders.”
  5. In the provided box, type in the GOBankingRates email address to make it exempt from filtering.
  6. Click “Add.”

Windows Live

  1. Click “Options” in the inbox page.
  2. Under “Junk Email,” click “Allowed and Blocked Senders.”
  3. Click “Allowed Senders.”
  4. Insert the GOBankingRates email address into the provided field.
  5. Click “Add to List.”
