Dairy Queen Celebrates First Day of Spring With Free Ice Cream

Here's how to get your complimentary sweet treat.

March 20 is the first day of spring, and what better way to celebrate a season of sunshine than with ice cream? To that end, Dairy Queen is offering patrons a free ice cream cone.

The free frozen treats are part of the fast food chain’s #FreeConeDay promotion. Eat at one of Dairy Queen’s participating non-mall locations today, and you’ll be able to enjoy a free small vanilla ice cream cone from the DQ menu. The promotion will be going on all day, while supplies last.

Other Ice Cream Deals

It looks like among major chains, only Dairy Queen has the foresight to usher in spring with free ice cream. But other brands are also celebrating spring in their own way.

Rita’s will be offering patrons a free Italian ice on March 20. If you want to get really indulgent, you can add a custard topping for a small charge.

You can also expect deals down the line. Baskin-Robbins is celebrating its array of flavors on March 31 with discounted scoops. And come next month, Ben & Jerry’s will be offering a free ice cream cone for its Free Cone Day on April 9.

Mark your calendars for National Ice Cream Day 2019, which falls on July 21.
