Hi, I’m Keri from One Mama’s Daily Drama, a blog about food, fun and family all on a budget. Today, I’m here in my kitchen to share my best money-saving tip, which is to have a weekly meal plan before you head to the store. I know making a weekly meal plan isn’t everybody’s favorite activity, but I’ve found a way to make it quick, easy and not much of a chore.

Okay, to make weekly meal planning easy, I made a meal planning binder. In it, I have a list of 30 meals that I know I can make quick and easy that everyone in my family loves. Then I print each one out on a sticky note – and you could also write them by hand – and make a calendar of the days of the week. Pull out your sticky notes, plop them on the days, and make a list of what you need for those meals.

Once you get in the habit of making a weekly meal plan, it gets easier. My family spends about $300 a month on groceries for a family of four. I love sharing this tip, because it makes a big difference in our monthly budget. Thanks.
