Auto Sales Improve to Cash for Clunkers Levels

Posted in Auto Loans , Financial News

A new report from auto sales tracker, Autodata, recently revealed that the auto industry saw the best month for car sales since the Cash for Clunkers program. However, despite the impressive improvement in sales, it seems that consumers are still a bit reluctant to get back into the car financing game.

According to the report, 1.05 million vehicles were sold in July, which represents a 5 percent increase over the same time last year. In fact, it was the second best sales rate since the economic meltdown in September 2008. However, much of the improvement came from lower-priced fleet sales to businesses like rental car companies instead of individual consumers (CNN Money).
