Following the COVID-19 pandemic, increased cost of living and skyrocketing inflation has been one of the central concerns of both American politics and everyday life. With each passing year, every trip to the gas pump or the grocery store costs a little (or a lot) more, leaving wallets (and bank accounts) lighter and lighter.
However, inflation is not a flat rate across America — whereas it might be a wallet-cratering menace in one state, it can be a light inconvenience in another. The cost-of-living increases in California, for example, are far more dizzying compared to those in Arkansas.
If you’re wondering where your state falls on the inflation spectrum, GOBankingRates has culled information from the “December 2024 Joint Economic Council’s State Inflation Tracker: Increased Costs Relative to January 2021 Prices” to determine just which states have been impacted the least by inflation since 2021.
