Move over, Mooresville. The North Carolina suburb, which ranked No. 1 in GOBankingRates’ 2024 study on the nation’s fastest-growing suburbs with home values under $500,000, has officially been dethroned in GOBankingRates’ original research study covering the 2025 rankings.Â
The 2025 study examines all cities with home values below $500,000. These cities are part of metro statistical areas with populations above 1 million and a 9% or greater change in population from 2021 to 2023. Only 26 suburbs had qualifying home values under $500,000, compared to 50 suburbs in 2024.
Key Findings
- Stockbridge, Georgia, is the fastest-growing suburb with home values under $500,000 in 2025. It is the only Georgia suburb among the 26 suburbs and did not previously rank in the top 50 in 2024. The 2025 home value in Stockbridge is $303,705.
- 13 Texas suburbs ranked in 2025 — compared to eight in 2024 — accounting for half of this year’s list. Atascocita (#2), Kyle (#3), Conroe (#4), Forney (#6), Hutto (#10), New Braunfels (#11), Waxahachie (#13), Weatherford (#14), Lewisville (#17), Little Elm (#19), Georgetown (#20), Leander (#23) and Midlothian (#24) ranked as this year’s top suburbs with home values under $500,000.
- Four Florida suburbs made the 2025 ranking. They include Sun City Center (#5), Ruskin (#7), Wesley Chapel (#18) and Apollo Beach (#22). Eight Florida suburbs were featured in 2024’s ranking.
- No California suburbs made it into the 2025 ranking.
