Across the U.S., the cost to buy a luxury home has dipped. A recent Realtor.com report found that the national benchmark for luxury homes dropped by 1.6% to $1.22 million in October, down 2.2% from a year ago. However, several luxury markets are bucking the trend — and prices there are soaring.
Here’s a look at the 10 cities where luxury real estate prices are rising.
1. North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota, Florida
- Starting price for a luxury home: $1,667,143
- Year-over-year price change for the top 10% of listings: 19.3%
2. Heber, Utah
- Starting price for a luxury home: $6,500,000
- Year-over-year price change for the top 10% of listings: 8.4%
3. Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, Florida
- Starting price for a luxury home: $1,054,960
- Year-over-year price change for the top 10% of listings: 8%
4. Bend, Oregon
- Starting price for a luxury home: $1,896,863
- Year-over-year price change for the top 10% of listings: 7.1%
5. Boise City, Idaho
- Starting price for a luxury home: $1,339,526
- Year-over-year price change for the top 10% of listings: 3.1%
6. Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington, Minnesota-Wisconsin
- Starting price for a luxury home: $995,404
- Year-over-year price change for the top 10% of listings: 2.7%
7. Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, Texas
- Starting price for a luxury home: $990,350
- Year-over-year price change for the top 10% of listings: 1.9%
8. Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell, Georgia
- Starting price for a luxury home: $933,364
- Year-over-year price change for the top 10% of listings: 1.8%
9. Key West-Key Largo, Florida
- Starting price for a luxury home: $4,824,500
- Year-over-year price change for the top 10% of listings: 1.7%
10. Nashville-Davidson-Murfreesboro-Franklin, Tennessee
- Starting price for a luxury home: $1,592,687
- Year-over-year price change for the top 10% of listings: 1.2%
