How To Claim Child Tax Credit Even if You Missed Nov. 17 Deadline

Millions of Americans never received the enhanced Child Tax Credit for 2021. And while both the GetCTC.org filing tool and the IRS’s Free File program closed for the year in mid-November, you can still claim the enhanced 2021 CTC — and other credits for which you may be eligible — by filing a 2021 tax return in 2023.

South Carolina To Begin Sending Food Stamp Payments Today
Anyone familiar with the food stamps program knows that states typically stick to a standard schedule each month, with South Carolina SNAP being no exception. However, this doesn’t mean a one-size-fits-all approach, as the program is state run and, hence, each state has its own specific schedule and guidance for when benefits go out.
For those new to the program, South Carolina has two different SNAP schedules. If you started receiving benefits after Sept. 1, 2012, your benefits will be set according to one schedule. If you started receiving SNAP benefits continuously before Sept. 1, 2012, your scheduled payments will follow a separate distribution.
Also, when you file a new SNAP application, benefits are available the day following your case approval.
