As a luxury real estate agent, Josh Altman is used to catering to the most discerning homebuyers. The star of Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listing” said there are a few home features that his high-end buyers are currently seeking.

“Luxury home buyers are all about comfort, convenience and status,” he told GOBankingRates.

According to Altman, these are the features that are most in-demand.

Smart Home Technology

From home security systems to top-of-the-line entertainment set-ups, luxury home buyers are seeking properties equipped with smart home technology.

“They’re looking for smart home technology that lets them control everything from lighting to security at their fingertips,” said Altman, who is the co-founder of Redy, a marketplace that rewards home sellers for selecting an agent who best aligns with their sales goals.

Outdoor Living Space

Sizable yard space with plenty of amenities is a big plus for luxury buyers.

“Outdoor living spaces are huge,” Altman said. “[Buyers are seeking outdoor spaces] with kitchens, fire pits and lounges for entertaining.”

Home Gyms and Spas

Luxury buyers don’t want to have to leave the house for their workouts and wellness rituals.

“Home wellness centers are in high demand, with gyms and spas for that resort vibe right at home,” Altman said.

Gourmet Kitchens

Kitchens with top-of-the-line appliances and plenty of space for food prep are at the top of many high-end buyers’ lists.

“Gourmet kitchens are must-haves, serving as the heart of the home with high-end appliances and custom features,” Altman said.

Home Office Space

Luxury buyers desire homes with a dedicated quiet space to get work done.

“With remote work here to stay, a well-appointed home office or library is essential,” Altman said.

“These features are what set luxury homes apart and make them truly desirable.”

Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles” returns for season 15 on Wednesday, July 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
