It might seem unlikely in today’s housing market, but U.S. buyers can still find luxury homes in good condition for $250,000 — or even less, depending on the location. And these aren’t tiny luxury homes, either.
According to an industry report from Mordor Intelligence, the luxury homes market is booming across the United States and has drawn so many buyers that the home prices have soared 50% over the past several quarters. So the right time to consider buying a luxury home would be now. GOBankingRates found 50 cities in the South where you can buy a luxury home for $250,000 or less.

Methodology: For this piece, GOBankingRates looked at the 50 biggest cities in the Southern U.S. (AL, AR, DE, DC, FL, GA, KY, LA, MD, MS, NC, OK, SC, TN, TX, VA and WV) that have top-tier homes valued under $250,000, as well as each month below $250,000, as sourced from Zillow’s May 2024 data. Top tier is defined as “typical value for homes within the 65th percentile to 95th percentile range for a given region.” All data was collected and is up to date as of June 26, 2024.
