It’s no secret that truly wealthy people enjoy a bit of luxury in their lives. From yachts to apparel to tech, many high-net-worth individuals will only choose brands that offer superior quality and a touch of class to everything they produce.

As is often the case with luxury, many of these brands are also quite expensive. Some are even beyond what the average person can afford.

If you’re wondering which high-quality brands the rich love, these are some of the big ones.

Tesla

Many famous people, including Stephen Colbert and Leonardo DiCaprio, either have owned or at least driven a Tesla in their lives.

Some Tesla models are priced affordably, but others are beyond what the average consumer can buy. For example, the 2024 Tesla Model S and the 2024 Tesla Model X both have a starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $76,730 or above. The 2024 Tesla Cybertruck has a starting price of $81,895 to $101,985, according to Car and Driver. This doesn’t account for upgrades, which can boost the price well into the six figures.

For many, Tesla is more than just a brand. It’s a lifestyle choice.

According to Tesla’s website, its mission statement is “to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.” It’s vision statement is “to create the most compelling car company of the 21st century by driving the world’s transition to electric vehicles.”

The company seems to stand by these two statements well. Their vehicles are often associated with premium luxury and speed, highly desirable traits for anyone with the means.

Apple

Apple is one of those brands that has made itself accessible to the average consumer, while still appealing to the wealthy. To exemplify this, individuals like Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg have both used iPhones.

Many of Apple’s products are quite expensive, especially their newer, fully upgraded models. For example, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a base price of $1,199. When upgraded, it costs closer to $1,868.

Then there’s the Apple Vision Pro, a virtual reality and an augmented reality headset. It has a starting price of $3,499.

It’s no surprise that many wealthy individuals love Apple. Not only are there die-hard Apple fans out there, but the company has a solid reputation of producing high-quality, innovative tech products.

Tom Ford

Tom Ford, an American luxury fashion house founded in 2004, is another expensive brand with high-quality products. It sells a wide selection of high-end apparel, cosmetics and fragrances. Considering the founder, Thomas Carlyle Ford, was once the creative director at Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, this isn’t surprising.

As for why the rich love it, that’s not hard to see either. The products are tailor-made and very high-end. They’re also designed to last.

Cesare Attolini

Founded in the 1930s by Vincenzo Attolini, this brand is known for its luxury menswear. Attolini pioneered the Neapolitan tailoring style, which includes unique features like high armholes, slim lines, zero to half-lining and freer movement.

Cesare Attolini doesn’t mass produce its products, which is a key reason why it appeals to the affluent. Each suit is carefully handcrafted down to the finest detail and takes up to 30 hours to create.

Hermès Paris

Hermès Paris sells a wide range of expensive products, including jewelry, watches, hats, shoes, bags, fragrances, blankets, tableware, furniture and so much more. It’s a truly luxury brand where everything from the simplest throw pillow to the fanciest necklace goes for thousands of dollars.

These products aren’t just luxurious. Almost all of their products are handcrafted in France to the highest of quality. This also makes each one distinct and for that reason, rare as in the case of the Hermès Birkin Bag Heidi Klum once showed off.

Another factor that speaks to quality is longevity. In Hermès’ case, it’s been around since 1837 and has long emphasized its artisanal model and process. Unsurprisingly, the brand prides itself on their superior craftsmanship, something those who can afford it can attest to.

Sunseeker

Sunseeker is the leading brand for luxury, high-performance yachts. It was founded in 1969 by two brothers, John and Robert Braithwaite. Since then, they’ve created some truly astounding superyachts — like the 131 yacht, the 120 yacht and the 50m Ocean.

These yachts aren’t just high-quality and beautiful. They also come with the price tag to match. For example, the asking price for a 131 Yacht Take 5 (Aroha) was $14,999,000 in 2016.
