Realtor.com recently shared a little of the hottest zip codes for the first half of 2025 based on strong buyer interest, with homes leaving the market quickly compared to the overall national levels.
Despite affordability concerns and higher mortgage rates, there are still regions with strong buyer interest. The data found that listings in these top ZIPs saw 3.6 times more views than the national average and sold 30 to 42 days faster.Â
The research also noted that seven of the top 10 zip codes had a higher median listing price than the June national average of $441,000, noting that shoppers were seeking out affordable options near metro areas instead of looking for the lowest overall price nationally.
It’s worth pointing out that the Northeast and Midwest dominated this list because buyers in these communities have fewer options and likely have to make faster decisions. While the national housing inventory was 28.9% higher on an annual basis in June of 2025, the listings are still 12.9% below pre-pandemic levels, which has led to more aggressive bidding.Â
What are the 10 hottest zip codes in 2025? GOBankingRates gathered data from Realtor.com for the median home listing price for January to June, the median days on the market for the first six months of the year and the current monthly cost of living from Livingcost.org.Â
1. 01915: Beverly, Massachusetts
- Median listing price: $746,000
- Median days on the market: 16
- Cost of living (one person versus a family of four): $2,898 or $5,788
With Boston’s metro area being a high-cost area, many buyers are turning to the suburbs to have close access to jobs without paying the premium of living in the city center.
Homebuyers are likely enticed by Beverly’s commuter rail access to the Boston city center and the small-town charm that you won’t find in a major metro. The relative affordability compared to Boston (15.9% lower median listing price as of June) and fast-paced sales helped solidify this as the hottest metro.Â
2. 08053: Marlton, New Jersey
- Median listing price: $495,000
- Median days on the market: 17
- Cost of living (one person versus a family of four): $5,533 or $4,920Â
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, residents were proponents of the shopping, restaurants, proximity to Philadelphia, and the relative affordability. With lower housing prices compared to the state of New Jersey, it’s an enticing entry point for buyers who want to enter a competitive market.
While the town is more expensive than the surrounding metro, the data suggests that buyers will accept the premium for the location and amenities.
3. 01453: Leominster, Massachusetts
- Median listing price: $441,000
- Median days on the market: 18
- Cost of living (one person versus a family of four): $2,636 or $4,987
Leominster is one of the three zip codes on this list where the homeownership rate is below the national norm of 65.1%. However, the second-largest city in Worcester County has a population of around 43,000 and offers proximity to Boston without the high costs. Leominster is an indicator that buyers are seeking out relatively affordable options to stay close to metro areas for jobs and amenities.Â
4. 63021: Ballwin, Missouri

The research noted that Ballwin was priced above the surrounding metro, which would indicate a strong local demand with shoppers looking to level up due to increased equity. As of June 2025, the local median listing price was 25.7% higher than the surrounding metro of St. Louis ($377,000 versus $300,000).
