TrumpRX is a new federal website launched in early Feb. 2026 that provides access to discounted cash prices on certain brand-name prescription drugs.
The site itself doesn’t sell drugs directly. Rather, once you select your medication, the site will route you to participating manufacturers, coupons or partner pharmacies so you can make your purchase.
Here’s what you need to know about TrumpRX.
What TrumpRX Is and What It Is Not
It Does Not Replace Medicare Part D
It does not replace Medicare Part D. The TrumpRX portal may or may not carry the medication you need, and if it’s listed, it may be offered at a higher or lower price than you could get with your Part D insurance. According to Forbes, it’s best to think of TrumpRX as a separate price-shopping portal that could potentially offer additional, more affordable options for your prescriptions.
Cash Purchases May Not Count Toward Your Deductible
Cash purchases may not count toward your Part D deductible or out-of-pocket cap. If you purchase medication via TrumpRX, your spending may bypass your Part D insurance, which can carry its own ramifications in terms of deductibles and spending caps.
Most Useful for the Uninsured or Underinsured
As currently designed, it’s of most value to the uninsured or underinsured population and those whose drug is excluded from Part D. The initial list of available drugs is quite limited on the TrumpRX website. Although the roster will likely expand over time, for now, you may still be better served through generics, discount cards, Part D or other programs.
You Should Still Comparison Shop
You should still comparison-shop. Just because a medication appears on TrumpRX doesn’t mean it’s a good deal. You should always compare your Part D copay and the preferred pharmacy price with the TrumpRX cash cost. Reuters and CBS News both describe the site as a “discount access” portal rather than a direct seller, so the “best” price can vary by path.
Example Drug Prices
Here is a sample of the types of pricing available on the TrumpRX website as of Feb. 19, 2026:
- Farxiga — about $182 per month (chronic condition), reduced from about $378 list price
- Wegovy Pill — about $149 per month, down from a list price of about $1,349
- Wegovy Pen — about $199 per month (introductory offer for new patients under limited-time pricing), well below the original list price of roughly $1,349
- Ozempic Pen — about $199 per month (introductory offer for the first two fills), a steep reduction from its typical list price of about $1,028
- Gonal-F — about $168 (fertility drug) versus nearly $966 list price
The Bottom Line
TrumpRx can be a useful option for certain high-cost drugs or coverage gaps. However, it currently applies to a limited number of medications and primarily benefits those with no insurance coverage at all.
