Personal finance expert, best-selling author and motivational speaker Suze Orman is one of the top financial experts in the U.S. today. Born in Chicago, she holds a bachelor’s degree in social work and started out working in the restaurant industry before becoming a broker at Merrill Lynch. She left the company in 1983 and started her own firm in 1987, the Suze Orman Financial Group. Since then, she’s gone on to host her own television show and provide financial advice all across the U.S. Orman’s first book, “You’ve Earned It, Don’t Lose It,” was published in 1995 and went on to sell hundreds of thousands of copies. Her second book, “The 9 Steps to Financial Freedom,” landed Orman on the bestseller’s list and sold more than three million copies. Since then, she’s went on to write several other books and columns for magazines, including Yahoo!’s “Money Matters” and a financial column for “O” The Oprah Magazine. ”The Suze Orman Show” ran for 13 years and ended in 2015. Orman has received eight Gracie awards, two Emmy awards and has been named one of “The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women” by Forbes.
