LOS ANGELES, Aug. 26, 2014 – GOBankingRates recognizes client Premier America Credit Union and its Credit Builder credit card program, which helps Southern California residents begin to build their credit history responsibly. This program, the first of its kind, provides an unsecured credit card without the requirement of a co-signer.
Applicants who open a Premier America Free Checking Account qualify for the Credit Builder Premier Privileges Rewards MasterCard®, which offers a $2,000 credit limit, no annual fee and a 0% six-month introductory rate for all purchases.1 Members who spend $500 in the first three months will be awarded 10,000 bonus points.
The rewards program earns one point for every dollar spent, redeemable for cash back, travel, merchandise and more than 6 million other rewards.

“Credit Builder resonates strongly with the Gen Y consumer, many of whom do not have existing credit today,” said Marge McNaught, Senior Vice President of Lending for Premier America. “Having their first credit card gives them the freedom to purchase a hotel room or rent a car. Also, by establishing positive credit, they’re one step closer to purchasing bigger-ticket items like a car or home.”

To qualify for the Credit Builder MasterCard®, applicants must be 21, with no prior credit history. The Credit Builder Premier Privileges MasterCard® requires that applicants open a Free Checking Account and set up a monthly direct deposit of at least $100.
