One thing with the housing market is that you’re always going to find options at opposing ends of the spectrum. However, the results ultimately depend on what you’re looking for and how you’re looking.
If you consider the bigger cities and towns, you’ll find that it can be the hardest housing market for home buyers because there’s high demand and low supply and therefore the prices of homes and cost of living skyrocket. But if you’re looking at small non-populous cities and towns, you’ll find affordable housing and easier housing markets. Because its demand is less than the supply, there’s no competition or increasing prices and the costs are more affordable.
In light of this trend, GOBankingRates found the easiest and hardest housing markets of this year. The metrics covered include median home listing price and median days on the market to determine the supply and demand for various housing markets.
Here are the top 10 easiest and hardest housing markets for homebuyers in 2024.
