Folks flock to Arizona because of its warm (sometimes extremely warm) weather, breathtaking natural beauty and rich, diverse culture — to name a few reasons. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Arizona has a residential population of 7,151,502.
Though appealing, Arizona isn’t exactly a cheap place to live. The cost of living here is 3% higher than the national average, PayScale reports. The cost of housing is especially steep — 17% higher than the national average — and it’s climbing, too.
According to Zillow, the average home value in Arizona is $433,271, up more than 3% year over year. With the average home in the U.S. currently costing $362,481, it makes you wonder: What can $400,000 get you, in terms of a house, in the 10 most populous cities in the Grand Canyon State?
GOBankingRates looked at listings on Zillow that were up on Sept. 2, 2024. City population estimates were taken from the latest data available from the U.S. Census Bureau. Cities are ranked in order from least to most populated. Take a look, and also check out some very pricey Arizona ZIP codes.
