Top 5 San Antonio Zip Codes Display Current Distribution of Wealth

The latest average household income data gathered by ESRI Updated Demographics shows the highest-income households appear to be heading further toward Kendall County, past North San Antonio.

Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Medina and Wilson counties were included in San Antonio Business Journal‘s ranking of the top 25 zip codes with the highest-income households.

1. 78004: Bergheim, Kendall County

The average household income in Bergheim is $185,301 a year, while the average home value is $481,482. The town only has a population of 528 people and a per-capita income of $68,786.

2. 78015: Boerne, Kendall County

In 2012, Boerne’s 78015 zip code was ranked No. 1 with highest income per household; it dropped to No. 2 in 2013 with an average household income of $162,173. Although Boerne has a much larger population than Bergheim with 11,133 people, it also has a lower per-capita income of $58,820. The average home value in this city is $431,788.

3. 78257: San Antonio, Bexar County

One of San Antonio’s many zip codes comes in at No. 3 with an average household income only slighter lower than Boerne’s at $161,879 and a smaller population of 4,190 residents. The per-capita income of $68,944 and average home value of $485,756 for this zip code are actually higher than both Boerne’s and Bergheim’s.

4. 78258: San Antonio, Bexar County

The average household income for this particular San Antonio zip code is $140,146 for a population of 44,051 people. The per-capita income is $50,568 and the average home value is currently $367,237.

5. 78260: San Antonio, Bexar County

Coming in at No. 5, this San Antonio zip code boasts an average household income of $136,199 and a population of 27,911 residents. The average home value for this zip code is $339,624 and the per capita income is $46,168.
