New shoppers may lament the high costs of traditional luxury cars, which can range anywhere from $50,000 to over $100,000. Still, while $100,000 may seem steep, you’d have to add $4 million to that average MSRP to reach the price of the most expensive luxury car on the open market — and suddenly, $100,000 doesn’t seem so pricey.
There are a number of high-end luxury rides whose costs reach well over $1 million, and GOBankingRates recently compiled a list of the world’s most expensive. One caveat: These are the cars that are available on the open market, not 100% bespoke one-offs (such as the Rolls-Royce Droptail) that aren’t generally orderable from manufacturers.
1. Bugatti Tourbillion
- Price: $4,100,000
This hypercar (an ultra high-performance ride designed to break speed and tech boundaries) is powered by a hybrid V-16 as well as three electric motors, allowing it to reach a top speed of 276, per Car and Driver.
2. Koenigsegg Jesko
- Price: $3,000,000
Sold as a production model across global markets, the Jesko is one of Koenigsegg’s fastest cars, with a twin-turbo V-8 and advanced aerodynamics justifying its hefty price tag.
3. Aston Martin Valkyrie
- Price: $3,000,000
Yahoo Autos noted that this hybrid hypercar was developed with Formula-1 technology and is powered by an aspirated V-12. While its numbers are somewhat limited, the Valkyrie is still marketed and delivered to Aston Martin shoppers on the open market.
4. Rimac Nevera R
- Price: $2,700,000
This new upgrade of the electric Nevera roars with over 2,000 horsepower (hp) and sub-2-second acceleration, per The Sun.
5. Gordon Murray T.50
- Price: $2,600,000
Designed by the same team behind the McLaren F1, the Gordan Murray T.50 fuses a powerhouse V-12 with an extremely lightweight design, per Motor1.
6. Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4
- Price: $2,600,000
This new remix of the Countach brings the classic Lamborghini up to speed — literally and figuratively — with a hybrid V-12 powertrain.
7. Pinifarina Battista
- Price: $2,500,000
The Battista is a completely electric luxury hypercar with 1,900 horsepower and sleek Italian design. It’s another luxury car with limited availability but is still available on the open market in small numbers.
8. Pagani Utopia
- Price: $2,500,000
This mid-engine hotshot now serves as the Pagani flagship, thanks to its V-12 engine and bespoke, handcrafted body.
9. Rimac Nevera
- Price: $2,500,000
The original electric hypercar from Rimac comes with almost 1,900 horsepower, as well as record-breaking acceleration.
10. Lotus Evija
- Price: $2,400,000
This electric vehicle doesn’t need a traditional gas motor to achieve over 2,000 horsepower and sub-2-second acceleration.
