Where you live affects how much money you’re paying for utilities. According to a recent Bank of America Institute report, coastal cities have seen bigger utility cost upswings than landlocked cities, with Southern cities seeing the largest spikes.
The study notes that utility costs are particularly higher in Texas and Florida, which have less regulation regarding utilities and are more at risk of climate change impacts.
