Despite the Federal Reserve’s efforts to bring the inflation rate below 2%, the annual inflation rate for the past 12 months remains above that threshold at 3.4%, according to the latest report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
However, inflation hasn’t been evenly distributed among the states. Some states — like Rhode Island, which has an estimated annual inflation rate of 1.8% — have already hit the Fed’s benchmark, USA Today reported. Meanwhile, other states are experiencing elevated levels of inflation, including Florida, which has an estimated annual inflation rate of nearly 4%.
