There are at least 10 items you can comfortably shop for if you have a $100 grocery budget at BJ’s Wholesale Club. But what if this grocery budget shrinks to $50? While shoppers will end up buying fewer items, they’ll still get great value on these bulk buys without compromising quality or taste.

To determine the best frozen foods to buy at BJ’s, GOBankingRates referred to the insight we previously received from a BJ’s Wholesale Club representative who recommended shopping the in-house grocery brand Wellsley Farms. After careful review of their frozen food inventory, we pulled four items for this roundup. Altogether, the amount spent came to $37.96 which leaves enough wiggle room for taxes and to save the remaining balance.

See which four frozen foods are best to bulk-buy at BJ’s Wholesale Club.

Wellsley Farms Cauliflower Rice

Wellesley Farms cauliflower rice previously made our roundup of the best bulk buys to make at BJ’s on a $100 grocery budget. We referred back to it again, thanks to the generous 4-lb. sizing at just under $9.

This cauliflower rice is incredibly versatile, acting as a main course or side dish across a wide range of meals. It also cooks quickly and has a healthy shelf life as a frozen vegetable.

Wellsley Farms Chicken Patties

Picking just one protein for this list wasn’t easy since Wellsley Farms has a sizable inventory of frozen seafood and frozen chicken available to shop at BJ’s. To get the most bang for your buck, we chose Wellsley Farms chicken patties.

At five pounds per bag, the chicken patties easily weigh the most out of the frozen seafood and chicken options which range anywhere between two to 3.5 pounds per bag. For those who don’t want to necessarily eat tons of chicken patty sandwiches, these patties come with a lot of creative uses. Cook them and cut them up to add to salads or slice into strips to make quick wraps or add to pasta dishes.

Wellsley Farms Tater Puffs

If you want to shop for something from the frozen apps section, the Wellsley Farms tater puffs are worth buying. At six pounds per bag, the tater puffs weigh a little more than the Wellsley Farms seasoned waffle fries (four pounds per bag, same price). It also costs less than Wellsley Farms classic crinkle cut French fries which contains six pounds of French fries for $10.

Much like the cauliflower rice and chicken patties, the tater puffs made this list thanks to their versatility as a frozen food. You can enjoy them as a side with dinners or bring them into the fold during breakfast via breakfast burritos or as a hash brown side to a more traditional eggs and bacon breakfast.

Wellsley Farms Premium Cookies and Cream Ice Cream

We wanted the final item to be something sweet and almost added Wellsley Farms ice cream variety pack to this list. What stopped us was the product’s $11.99 price tag. This would have brought the total cost to $44.96. Technically still under $50, but without that extra wiggle room to pay for taxes.

As a happy compromise, we chose Wellsley Farms premium cookies and cream ice cream instead. Each container is 64 ounces, giving households plenty of ice cream to enjoy. And if cookies and cream isn’t the flavor for you, Wellesley Farms also has vanilla, chocolate and Neapolitan flavors available at just under $5 each.
