Traveling during the holidays? Travel deals on flights, hotels, cruises and more are back during the biggest shopping days of the year.
To save money with the best travel deals, Melissa Cid, consumer savings expert with MySavings.com, recommended looking the Tuesday after Cyber Monday. “‘Travel Tuesday’ has gained a lot of interest over the last few years for those seeking discounts on airfare, hotel and vacation packages for future travel in 2025,” she said.
For those looking to take advantage of sales to book travel plans, here are expert-recommended tips and travel deals to consider on Black Friday 2024.

Travel Insurance
If you need extra coverage while you travel, some insurance companies offer deals on travel insurance. Travel insurance provides coverage in case of unexpected situations, such as cancellation, medical emergencies and lost baggage.
“Most people wouldn’t think of travel insurance when looking for Black Friday travel deals,” said Joe Cronin, president of International Citizens Insurance, which offers global medical, life and travel insurance. “The good news is that some providers also offer discounted rates on them during Black Friday.”
Cruises
Want to book a cruise? According to Cid, many cruise lines offer big discounts on cruise add-ons for Black Friday. Look for discounts on beverage packages, dining plans, internet plans and more.
“Some cruise itineraries will also have sales on their fares,” Cid said. “Already have a cruise booked? Depending on how you booked, you may be able to get a refare at the lower price.”
Flights and Travel Packages
Black Friday is one of the most popular times of the year for travelers to purchase airline tickets and travel packages for less, according to Mercedes Zach, a travel agent at ASAP Tickets.
“This period is expected to bring more sales than any other day of the year,” Zach said. “It is indeed a great opportunity to save on travel and make your bucket-list dreams come true without breaking the bank.”
However, Zach recommended doing research to make sure you’re getting the best deal and to act quickly if you see a good one. “Often, travel companies can only provide a certain amount of savings, so don’t wait too long, as the best offers will be gone in the blink of an eye,” she explained.
One thing to keep in mind is that Black Friday discounts are usually valid for travel dates ranging from January to May of the next year, which are typically low-demand periods in many places across the world. “It doesn’t mean that is not a good time to fly somewhere, but just keep in mind that a discounted vacation in Europe will not be the same in March as it is in the middle of July,” Zach explained.
Hotels
Discounts on hotel stays are another common feature of Black Friday sales. For example, Hilton has a 20% discount on the best available rate for a two-night minimum stay from Nov. 4, 2024, through Apr. 21, 2025, at participating locations.
Some deals may be time-sensitive and can sell out quickly. Cronin recommended checking out websites like Groupon for early-bird specials. “Be sure to set notifications and check the sites early during Black Friday sales, so you don’t miss out on these specials,” he said.
