Clever Tiny Homes identified the states with the highest proportion of tiny homes — homes that are 500 square feet or smaller — by analyzing Realtor.com data for every state. Here’s a look at the 10 states that have the highest percentage of small homes.
Alaska

- Percentage of tiny homes: 3.07%
- Average cost per square foot: $243
Maine
- Number of homes listed up to 500 square feet: 95
- Total homes listed: 4,005
- Percentage of tiny homes: 2.37%
- Average cost per square foot: $263
Hawaii
- Number of homes listed up to 500 square feet: 37
- Total homes listed: 2,789
- Percentage of tiny homes: 1.33%

Vermont
