Your morning coffee and afternoon chocolate fix? They might take a bigger bite out of your budget next year. Financial expert Anthony Termini from RetireGuide breaks down what could get pricier soon.
Your Daily Coffee Fix
Bad news for coffee lovers. “Coffee beans are expected to rise in price by about 20% this year,” Termini warned. With new tariffs looming on coffee-producing countries, your morning brew could cost even more.
Sweet Treats
Got a sweet tooth? Brace yourself. According to Termini, “Sugar, which is produced in countries like Brazil and India, is forecasted to see a 60% increase in local production prices.” That means everything from baked goods to candy could get more expensive.
Chocolate Indulgences
Here’s another hit to dessert lovers: “Cocoa — the bitter bean that gets ground down to make chocolate — will likely see a 30% increase in price in 2025,” Termini noted.
The Trump Factor
Why such steep increases? Termini pointed out that “each of these commodities comes from countries that President-elect Trump has targeted for increased tariffs.” This means prices could climb even higher than predicted.
As Termini puts it, “Inflation in 2025 is gonna suck more money out of their pockets and take a bigger bite out of their budgets.” Might be time to start thinking about which little luxuries are really worth the splurge.
