A few years ago, the post-pandemic global economy went haywire. To mitigate the toll and help those in a pandemic-related financial crisis to make ends meet, the government rolled out stimulus relief payments. Spanning three installments, more than 476 million payments totaling $814 billion in financial aid went out.

Now, with the pandemic largely in the rearview, the economy has improved — but that doesn’t mean Americans aren’t still feeling the impact of all that it damaged. In many cases, however, the government is signaling the funds are done. As IRS spokesperson Anthony Burke said last year, ”We’ve paid out all the Economic Impact Payments.”

This may not be the case for everyone though, as the IRS still has wiggle room for you to file for these payments in the form of a Recovery Rebate Credit if you have not received all of your stimulus checks and file by April 15, 2025. It’s probably not the answer you may have hoped for, but at least you can now carry on with your life and tap into other ways to generate income and get back on your financial footing.

Years After the Pandemic, People Are Still Feeling the Blow

With so much financial despair in the air, people are asking, “Will we get another stimulus check in 2025?” Good question.

Last year, a spell of misinformation manifested online about the future of stimulus payments. One particular rumor that gained steam last November indicated that a fourth round of stimulus funds would automatically be sent out to older or disabled residents in 10 states on the 30th of the month. It stated that those people would be getting a $2,000 stimulus check, which was categorically debunked.

An article by Andy Markowitz, AARP contributing editor and writer, titled “No, Social Security Beneficiaries Are Not Getting a Fourth Stimulus Check” spelled it out pretty clearly. The article took a deep look at the prospect of any kind of fourth stimulus check and came to the same conclusion: Nothing more is coming — at least, not as far as we can presently tell.

Is the DOGE Dividend Stimulus Check Happening?

At this point, the DOGE Dividend is still just rumored even though it seems to have the support of both Elon Musk and President Trump. Here is everything you need to know about the potential payday:

  • James Fishback, CEO of the investment firm Azoria, first put forth the idea of distributing federal savings from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to taxpayers.
  • Many critics of the proposal argue its potential economic impact could include inflation and more national debt.
  • The original proposal was to allocate a portion of the estimated $2 trillion in federal spending cuts identified by DOGE to be returned to taxpayers in the form of a $5,000 check per household.
  • The remaining savings would be used to pay down the national debt.
  • Fishback doesn’t agree with the critics and feels his proposal would focus on net taxpayers and mitigate inflation risks.
  • Whether or not the DOGE Dividend will be approved remains uncertain.
