Based on those pieces of information, here are the 15 best places you and your partner should consider if you’re looking to make a move.
15. Bellevue, Nebraska
Bellevue has plenty of lush forests to explore, and if you’re lucky, you can secure a place to live near one of them.
A one bedroom in Bellevue will run about $873 a month on average. Aim to make more than $34,198 a year between you and your partner to live a comfortable life in Bellevue, as necessary expenditures will run you about $2,850 a month.

14. Dearborn, Michigan
Dearborn is the hometown of Henry Ford, and is also where the Ford Motor Company headquarters is located, making it a perfect destination for those working in the auto industry.
Look to spend about $850 a month on rent for the average one bedroom. Cost of living in this Michigan city is about $33,633 per couple annually, and you’ll spend around $2,803 a month in Dearborn.
13. Lincoln, Nebraska
Our second city in Nebraska on the list promises historical landmarks, college sports and plenty of opportunities to spot bison and elk.
A one bedroom will cost you about $830 to rent. The two of you should make over $32,551 to get by in Lincoln, Nebraska. For a couple, monthly expenditures will run about $2,713.
12. Roanoke, Virginia
Picture yourself in the Magic City of Roanoke. Roanoke got the name the Magic City because of the short time it took for it to become a city. Nature lovers will enjoy the city’s George Washington and Jefferson National Forests, as well as the Carvins Cove Nature Reserve.
Plan to spend about $903 in rent for a one bedroom, and $2,707 in monthly expenditures for you and your partner.
11. Florissant, Missouri
A historic town that Cedric the Entertainer once called home, Florissant is considered a suburb of St. Louis.
To live here, it will cost about $901 on average for a one bedroom apartment. The cost of living per couple is $32,009 on average, with monthly costs coming in at about $2,667.
10. San Angelo, Texas
San Angelo is full of museums and historical sites to visit and treat out-of-towners to.
One bedrooms in San Angelo run about $849 per month. Plan to make $31,662 or more per couple to meet your needs. Monthly expenditures will cost you and your significant other somewhere around $2,639.
9. Willoughby Hills, Ohio

5. Abilene, Texas
Abilene has museums, gardens and a zoo to enjoy as a local. It has the lowest cost of rent for a one bedroom on our list, coming in at just $771 a month. You’ll also enjoy a low cost of living per couple at just $30,190 a year. Monthly expenditures come out at $2,516.
4. College Station, Texas
Home to Texas A&M’s main campus, as a couple you’ll be treated to a college vibe with relatively low cost of living.
Plan to pay about $800 for a one-bedroom apartment. If you and your significant other can make $30,039 between the two of you, you’ll be able to get by in College Station, with a monthly cost of living of $2,503.
3. Jeffersonville, Indiana
Wake up every morning and look out to see Jeffersonville’s fabulous Big Four Bridge.
A one-bedroom apartment for you and your partner will be about $812 a month. The cost of living per couple is about $30,030. Between the two of you, you’ll probably spend about $2,502 on monthly needs.
2. Fort Wayne, Indiana

Renting a one bedroom in Fargo will cost you about $765 on average. For monthly expenditures for a couple, you’re looking at $2,418, the lowest on our list. Aim to make about $29,017 annually between the two of you to meet your needs in Fargo.
