Cooper has had acting credits in at least 60 projects, including dozens of movies. “A Star Is Born” — Cooper’s directorial debut — earned more than $210 million at the domestic box office, and around double that worldwide. Cooper’s first role on the big screen was in 2001 when he was selected to play Ben in “Wet Hot American Summer.” Cooper’s breakout role, however, came in 2005 when he played Rachel McAdams’ devious fiance in “Wedding Crashers.” The part cast him alongside not only McAdams, but megastars Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn. The comedy was a critical and commercial success, earning nearly $285.2 million at the worldwide box office.

It was 2009’s “The Hangover,” however, that turned Cooper into a bona fide movie star. For years, the surprise hit reigned domestically as the highest-grossing R-rated comedy of all time before being dethroned by “Deadpool” in 2016. The original “Hangover” won a Golden Globe for best motion picture, musical or comedy. To date, “The Hangover” has earned almost $467.5 million at the worldwide box office.

In the ensuing years, Cooper’s career enjoyed a meteoric rise, as he starred in two blockbuster “Hangover” sequels and appeared in commercial successes like “Silver Linings Playbook,” “American Hustle,” and “American Sniper” — each of which earned more than $200 million worldwide.

Cooper starred in three movies in 2018: “Avengers: Infinity War,” “A Star Is Born” and “The Mule.” Of the three, “Avengers” was by far Cooper’s most profitable project, grossing over $2 billion worldwide.
