Biography:

Elon Musk is an entrepreneur and crypto advocate who helped the rise of the meme coin Dogecoin in 2021. He is the founder and CEO of SpaceX, a maker of launch vehicles and spacecraft. He is also the CEO of the electric car manufacturer Tesla and was one of the company’s first significant investors.

In April 2022, Twitter’s board agreed to sell the company to Musk for $44 billion. That deal closed in October 2022 after Musk tried to back out and Twitter sued. Since then, as CEO of the company, Musk has fired over 80% of Twitter’s staff.

His career began when he founded Zip2 with his brother. Eventually, Compaq acquired Zip2 for $307 million — Musk received $22 million for his share.

He then went on to co-found X.com, which later merged with online bank Confinity to avoid competition with Confinity’s money-transfer service, PayPal. Musk went on to make  $175.8 million when PayPal was acquired by eBay.
