Royal Banks of Missouri runs a special promotion during the months of December 2009 and January 2010. If you sign up for online bill pay, you will receive $5 after you pay your first five bills. Then you’ll receive $1 per bill for up to ten additional bills. In fact, even if you are already signed up for online bill payment, you can still participate as long as you haven’t paid a bill since Oct. 1, 2009.
$15 is not much, but paying bills online saves your more money (in stamps) and time. And who knows, one day your letter with the payment might get lost in the mail, and the penalties on a late bill could run into dozens of dollars.
All in all, this is an excellent promotion. If you don’t have a checking account with Royal Banks of Missouri, you can sign up online.
The promotion only works with checking accounts; so if you have extra cash, you should put it in a separate savings account to get a better interest rate.
