Let’s face it, living on a low income is never easy, but some states cushion the blow, and allow individuals to still live comfortably on less salaries. States that are offering more support and a lower cost of living make it easier for low-income individuals and families to live and be happy, or even earn a higher income eventually.
To find the data, GoBankingRates looked at Zillow for prices of states with most affordable housing, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics to find the lowest median incomes per state. From there, we looked at benefits, population of low income, along with other factors to compile an accurate list. Here are five states where being low income is much easier due to various factors:

- Median Home Price: $171,613 (2nd lowest in the nation)

- Supportive Programs: The state offers various assistance programs, including Medicaid, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), and TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families).
Arkansas
