Now that Halloween and election season have passed, the holiday season is officially in full swing. While it can be a time of great joy and fellowship, it can also be one of financial hardship. There is Christmas shopping to be done, as well as all manner of holiday parties at work and at home with friends and with family, making the season a rather pricey one.
It can be especially expensive for those tasked with hosting such holiday parties, including Thanksgiving dinners, as a turkey alone can cost upward of $50. With costs on the mind of most this holiday season, many may be wondering how they can host Thanksgiving on a budget.
Here’s how to host Thanksgiving dinner for less than $100 at Sam’s Club this year.

A Prearranged Meal
Walmart-owned bulk retailer Sam’s Club is offering a large, prearranged meal to shoppers for just under $100, as noted by Myron Frazier, senior vice president of Sam’s Club brand Member’s Mark, in a recent blog post.
The dinner is designed to give shoppers “more time for hosting and less time stressing in the kitchen,” as everything in the kit is precooked and designed to be served in just under two hours.
More importantly, it saves shoppers money.
The package comes with the following items.
- Member’s Mark hickory smoked whole turkey
- Member’s Mark yeast dinner rolls (24 count)
- Member’s Mark macaroni and cheese
- Member’s Mark Yukon Gold mashed potatoes
- Member’s Mark 12-inch pumpkin pie
- Member’s Mark Brussels sprouts
- Member’s Mark cranberry crunch salad
- Member’s Mark sweet potato mash
Best of all, the portions are such that this $100 meal from Sam’s Club can serve up to 10 guests, meaning that most large Thanksgiving dinners will be more than covered for far less than a shopping trip for individual items.
And if the party is fewer than 10 people, there will be plenty of classic Thanksgiving leftovers to be had by the smart host who saved a good deal of money for the holiday season this year.
